In the Spring of 2021 my friend Neil Segrott suffered a life-changing brain injury and now needs 24-hour care. All proceeds of the sale of this album will go towards his continuing support.

Tiny Steel Orchestra began as an experimental project early in 2009 and grew into a whole album which Neil and I always regarded as the most fun we had together in the studio over all five albums we made. It involved writing "on the fly", taking songs apart, stitching them back together, in some cases playing instruments we couldn't really play and making as many different noises as we could (such as by removing the front of a piano and hitting/plucking it in various forms).

I don't know why I never got around to putting it out before... maybe at the time it seemed too "different" from my previous output, and then life got in the way...

Now seems the perfect time, albeit in the worst circumstances with my friend in such dire straits. But every time this album is purchased it helps Neil. And I know he was very proud of this project - it really shows his brilliance and invention. Listening to it again after such a long time while preparing this release, I agree with him.
